Amy Adams Transforms Into a Dog in Nightbitch Trailer: Watch

Amy Adams explores her wild side.

The six-time Oscar nominee, 50, plays a new mother who is convinced she is turning into a dog in Night Bitchan adaptation of the 2021 novel by author Rachel Yoder.

According to the synopsis, Adams’ character “puts her career on hold to become a stay-at-home mom, but soon her new life as a domestic takes a surreal turn.” Are her dog-like features just a figment of her imagination?

Written and directed by A beautiful day in the neighborhood filmmaker Marielle Heller, Night Bitch also stars Scoot McNairy, Arleigh Patrick Snowden, Emmett James Snowden, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, Archana Rajan and Jessica Harper.

Searchlight Pictures, the film’s distributor, released a poster on May 12, revealing a cheeky tagline: “Motherhood is a bitch.”

Asked about the delayed release of Night Bitch With Hollywood writers and actors on strike in 2023, Heller told IndieWire in April, “It’s kind of like having creative blue balls. We want this movie to come out and be out in the world. I’m so excited that it’s finally coming out and we can share it.”

Heller said Vanity Fair Last month, Adams’ commitment to the role, “She was this beautiful movie star who was never allowed to look real, and she was allowed to look real” here.

Adams added of her transformation: “I wasn’t judging anything as I was going through it. I wasn’t judging my physical appearance. I was just so in character. So, yeah, I guess it can be liberating at times, but also terrifying.”

Adams has not been seen on screen since 2022 Disillusionedthe sequel to his 2007 Disney hit film Delighted. Among her other upcoming projects, she shares the bill with Jenna Ortega in Klara and the sunby director Taika Waititi.

Night Bitch is in theaters December 6.
