16-year-old teen arrested after phone threat that led to curfew at Harrison Central High

GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – A teenager is in custody after making threatening phone calls to Harrison Central High School Wednesday afternoon, according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

The call came in to the school around noon and led to a light lockdown of the school, meaning no one is allowed to leave or enter the building.

Police arrived at the school and the lockdown was lifted around 1:30 p.m.

A similar situation occurred just last Friday at Harrison Central, when another threatening phone call reached the school, resulting in a closure.

Now, investigators have located and arrested the 16-year-old youth they believe is responsible for the calls. The teen was taken into custody at home and taken to the Harrison County Juvenile Detention Center. He is charged with two counts of making terroristic threats and is being held without bail.
