Xavier Worthy scores his first NFL touchdown, a 21-yard touchdown

It didn’t take long for Chiefs rookie receiver Xavier Worthy to make an impression.

The man who ran the fastest 40-yard dash of all time at the Scouting Combine scored a touchdown about 21 yards away, tying the score between Baltimore and Kansas City at 7-7.

It was the first step in Worthy’s professional career.

The Chiefs selected Worthy with the No. 28 overall pick after he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds.

Second-year receiver Rashee Rice also had an impact on the possession, catching Patrick Mahomes’ first pass of the season for an 11-yard gain. He then caught a pass for 16 yards on third-and-6 and a horse-collar tackle foul gained him another 15 yards.

Mahomes started the game 2 of 2 for 27 yards.

The Chiefs evaluated defensive end Malik Herring and cornerback Trent McDuffie for concussions after the two players collided during a tackle, but both were cleared.
