Brooklyn Park Police: Woman in critical condition after being attacked by three dogs

A woman is in critical condition after being attacked by three dogs in her apartment.

On Tuesday at 9:26 p.m., Brooklyn Park Police arrived at the Huntington Place Apartment on Zane Avenue North because a woman was calling for help.

Officers said when they arrived at the woman’s apartment, they found her with severe injuries caused by three pit bulls that had attacked her. The three pit bulls belonged to the woman and her boyfriend.

The woman was taken to hospital, where police say she remains in critical but stable condition.

Another person, a security guard, injured his left hand while trying to fend off the attack; in doing so, the guard injured one of the dogs.

Police said that after “exhausting efforts,” two dogs were captured, while another was killed in the apartment due to its aggressiveness. Another dog was later killed due to its injuries. The third is being quarantined at an animal shelter.

Police are currently unclear what caused the dogs to attack their owner.

Brooklyn Park has seen several dog attacks over the past three months. This incident is the fourth dog attack in the city since July 19.
