Bellingham cyclist seriously injured in collision with car

BELLINGHAM – A 46-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured Tuesday when he was struck by a car on South Main Street.

Bellingham Police received multiple 911 calls around 5:03 p.m. reporting the accident near 829 South Main Street.

Police and fire department responded immediately to the incident.

The Bellingham man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the vehicle involved was still at the scene of the accident when officers arrived and that the driver is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The accident is currently being investigated by the Bellingham Police Department with assistance from the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Crash Reconstruction Team.

Currently, no charges have been filed in connection with the accident.
