Roommate arrested for murder of woman at Queens Massage Parlor

QUEENS, NY — Police are investigating a fatal stabbing attack that occurred Tuesday at a spa on Kissena Boulevard in Queens. Authorities say a 25-year-old man named Jiahai Ma entered the spa around 5:30 p.m. and attacked a 26-year-old employee, Jui Mei Tang, stabbing her multiple times in front of customers and staff.

The incident occurred at a storefront at 41-39 Kissena Blvd., which houses several Chinese businesses, including a hair salon. The area was packed with people at the time of the attack.

Tang was taken by paramedics to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she died from her injuries, which included a fatal stab wound to the neck.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Ma holding a knife and arrested him. The visibly shaken witnesses were questioned with the help of a translator.

Both Tang and Ma lived at 14-20 Cherry Avenue in Queens.

Ma was charged with murder, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree illegal possession of a weapon and second-degree harassment. The investigation is ongoing.

    BROOKLYN, NY — Police are searching for a man who forcibly removed three chains from a woman’s neck on the northbound “Q” train at the Atlantic Avenue station on Friday, August 30, 2024.

    The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. when a 28-year-old woman was approached by an unknown person. The man grabbed the chains and fled the station on foot to board a northbound Line 3 train. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

    The suspect is described as male of medium build and was last seen wearing glasses, a blue surgical mask, a grey sweater, grey pants and a backpack.

    TRENTON, NJ — A Jersey Cash 5 ticket sold in Passaic County won the $297,629 jackpot in the drawing on Friday, August 30. The ticket had all five numbers: 28, 33, 36, 38 and 39. The XTRA number was 03 and the Bullseye number was 33.

    The winning ticket was purchased at Freddie’s Corner, 295 Mount Pleasant Ave. in West Paterson. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the jackpot winning ticket.
