Two police officers shot near WIU campus

MACOMB (WGEM) – Update: MPD says there is no active threat to the community, but is asking people to stay away from the area.

Two Macomb Police Department officers were shot while serving an arrest warrant in the 300 block of North Normal Street in Macomb, near the Western Illinois University campus.

The two officers are being treated at the hospital. The MPD says their condition is critical but stable.

MPD warns everyone to stay away from the area. WGEM will provide updates.
