There were not one, not two, but three welcome sights for the 49ers during Tuesday’s practice.

Receiver Brandon Aiyuk, running back Christian McCaffrey and left tackle Trent Williams were all present at practice. However, only Aiyuk and McCaffrey participated, while Williams watched from the sidelines because his contract had not yet been finalized.

Aiyuk practiced with the team for the first time since last season after contract negotiations took place throughout the spring and summer before the two sides agreed to a four-year, $120 million contract last week, ending months of holdouts and deadlocks.

McCaffrey missed most of training camp and all three preseason games after suffering a calf strain in early August, but he has been around the team every day and has been seen rehabbing on the sidelines in recent weeks.

Williams and the 49ers still had a few minor details to work out before the All-Pro could sign his revamped contract and return to practice, but his appearance at the facility and on the field was certainly a good sign that he would soon rejoin his teammates.
