A family has become homeless following a fire in Embu County.

The devastating fire destroyed a house in Kiriari area of ​​Ruguru Ngandori district.

Residents are complaining of an increase in fire incidents in the area; the latest incident is the third reported within a week.

“We demand that proper investigations be conducted to put an end to the inferno cases,” said a local resident.

Amid the chaos, a third-grader from Karau Day Secondary School became an unexpected hero when he rescued a trapped child from the fire.

Through his heroic act, Brian Kimanthi was able to save the child who was trapped in the house.
