Woman arrested after fatal accident while driving under the influence of alcohol on Broad River Road

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – A woman has been arrested in connection with a crash on Broad River Road that left another woman dead.

The Columbia Police Department (CPD) reported that a “serious” two-car crash occurred at the intersection of Broad River Road and Lost Creek Drive on Wednesday evening.

Officials said the accident resulted in the death of a 58-year-old woman. Her identity has not yet been released by the Richland County Coroner.

The CPD arrested 27-year-old Sydney Ezelle and charged her with drunk driving causing death.

Ezelle was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
