Warehouses in flames after Russian drone attack on Lviv

Russia attacked the western Ukrainian city of Lviv with Shahed drones on the night of September 5-6, causing fires at industrial facilities, Mayor Andrii Sadovyi reported.

Fragments of falling drones caused fires in warehouses in the village of Malekhiv on the northern outskirts of Lviv, Sadovyi said.

Rescue workers are currently putting out the fire, Sadovyi said. There is no information about victims.

The Air Force issued an air raid alert for Lviv Oblast at around 22:45 local time on September 5. Shortly afterwards, the Air Force warned that Shahed drones were flying in the direction of Lviv.

Lviv is located about 540 kilometers west of Kyiv, has over 700,000 inhabitants and is considered one of the safest cities in Ukraine due to its distance from the Russian border.

The region was still attacked several times by Russian drones and missiles during the war. Mass attack on the city of Lviv On September 4, seven people were killed and 64 were injured, including children.
