WINDER, Ga. (WDEF) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced it has arrested the father of the Apalachee High School shooter.

Colin Gray, 54, was arrested in connection with the shooting.

He is accused of the following:

  • 4 cases of manslaughter
  • 2 counts of premeditated murder
  • 8 cases of cruelty to children

Colin is the father of Colt Gray, who was arrested in connection with the September 4, 2024 shooting.

Both Colin and Colt, then 13, were questioned by authorities about online posts threatening a school over a year ago.

There was not enough evidence to justify an arrest.

Colt was charged as an adult with four counts of murder in connection with the deaths of two teachers and two students at Apalachee High School.

Colt is currently being held at the Gainesville Regional Youth Detention Center.

Colt’s first court date is scheduled for Friday, September 6, 2024, at 8:30 a.m.
